2 cups cornmeal
3 cups water
Salt to taste
4 okras (washed, cut into pieces)
2 tablespoons butter or margarine.
Bring water to boil with okras over medium heat until they are cooked. Mix cornmeal, salt and water into a bowl with a wooden spoon until the cornmeal mixture becomes smooth and lump less. Add the cornmeal mixture to the cooked okras. Use a wooden spoon to stir constantly to avoid lumps. Add more water if needed. Reduce the heat to low. When mixture becomes smooth add the butter or margarine then remove from heat.
